‘Homesick’ is a personal project based on my own feelings. The aim of the project is to represent the things that I miss in a pictographical way and tell everyone that I feel homesick.
The project is based on the cross stitching technique because it represents, in a very particular way, the feeling of “Home Sweet Home”. In order to represent my homesickness I focused on ten things that I miss most about home. I used cross stitching in wool as a method and a 1mx1m metal fence as a canvas. The idea was to bring the things that I miss from Barcelona to London, so I designed pictograms using small sentences like “I miss Home.” These pictograms were then placed in different locations in London creating a connection between the things I used to have, and now, where I would like to have them.
